Our Loot System

We do a standard DKP system.

DKP Earn Rate:
1.  You get points based off of boss kills and attendance. 
2.  For special kills we usually give small bonuses.

Loot Cycle:
1.  See below post

Buying Items:
1.  The loot master will send a tell in raidchat offering the item for bid and giving the cycle.  For example:  "Main Spec bid [insert item]".
2.  If you are interested in the item and it is the appropriate cycle, send a whisper to the loot master in the amount of your bid.  Your bid must be equal to or less than your total DKP amount. 
3.  If your bid is the highest, you will win the item.  Your actual DKP cost will, generally, be different than your bid.

How Actual DKP amount is calculated:
1.  Minimum Bid for any epic item is 5dkp, this is the floor.
2.  Your actual DKP cost is calculated by averaging your winning bid and the next lowest bid amount.  If there is no other bid, your actual DKP cost is calculated by using the minimum bid as the next lowest bid.  As an example, if you bid 100 DKP for an item and the next highest bid is 50 DKP, your actual DKP cost will be 100+50/2=75 DKP.

We are adding/changing the bidding cycles as follows (effective immediately):

1.  Raider main spec 80%+
2.  Non-raider member (less than or = 79%) main spec
3.  Raider offspec
4.  Initiates/member offspec

The "Raider" member rank is for those people who maintain 80% attendance for the previous two months.  We have been tracking this, and will put up a dynamic post to reflect who is and who isn't qualified.

We are basically changing the loot system, at this point, to give priority to our members who are present most, helping us down progression content.  The raider offspec bid will also allow those people who are present most often to obtain quality offsets, so that they can fill appropriate gaps should we need them.

Improper Bid Penalty - Bidding in the proper cycle is your responsibility.  If you bid on the raider cycle and you are below 80%, you will be penalized 50 DKP and forfeit the item to the second highest bidder.
